If chandeliers, glassware and pillows are on your list of adornments to acquire this season, seriously consider a little midtown treasure of a store called Putti. It is easy to add a little French flair to any dinner table with the etched glassware or the thick-stemmed 18th century inspired wine goblets. The bounty of the store will certainly provide distraction at the eye level so do not miss the hanging Murano glass or Venetian-style chandeliers and sconces. You’ll also find lovely pillows, soaps and scents, paper products, throws and furniture pieces. I’m a huge fan of the beige and white linen upholstery!

Don’t forget to visit around Christmas time. Putti sources a vast selection of vintage style ornaments which instantly adds a touch of old-world charm to a Christmas tree.

And if you’re wondering what putti means, it’s an old Italian word which refers to the chubby angelic children depicted in many Renaissance paintings such as Raphael’s Cherubini. Speaking of angels… I eagerly recommend this store to all brave gentlemen who dare venture outside the dull realm of chocolates and flowers this Valentine’s Day!
