Every other Saturday, when Wendy’s not here, you’ll come to find interesting book covers by a variety of designers. Maybe you’ll end up liking one – enough to make a purchase. Xiaolu Guo’s A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers is about Zhuang, a woman from rural China, who comes to understand love and heartbreak in English. The story, paired with the novel’s delicate illustration by Gabriele Wilson, draws you in to find out what happens to Zhuang.

Last week we came across Time Lapse 5 by Jean-Baptiste Lefournier . We walk beneath the sky every day. Yet it seems to constantly change and can seem unfamiliar depending on where and when you look up to it. Still, to view the sky from below is an amazing feeling. A feeling so grand, we wanted to share with you.

A simplistic short by Chris Milk which captures a compilation of special moments throughout this man’s life till his last day. His journey from young to old; birthday parties, graduation day, heated fights, to his wedding day. These are just some of the moments that are captured in quick snap shots, which are hard to forget. What are some of the things you will hold on to, till you grow old?

As a child, I always dreamed of flying. In dreams I would flap my arms and find that my feet would slowly hover above the ground. The more I flapped, the higher I would soar. It’s not only the freedom that you feel when you’re flying but the cool air brushing against your skin. Wild hair and all. Ryan Booth’s In the Air brings back the feeling of limitless possibilities when you’re viewing the world from above.

This weekend I would love to introduce you to Rosanna Anson. I discovered some of her work while preparing myself for next week’s beach weather. Rosanna is a fine art photographer from San Francisco. The light in her photographs are beautifully captured, and appear almost surreal at times. The images keep giving me insane beach activities, and in the sky! Below are some of our favorites! Have a lovely weekend everyone.

I’ve recently stumbled upon a print by Yasmine Surovec and fell in love. The way white ink flows on the tinted paper seems so delicate and gentle.

Though I’ve always enjoyed watching movies, I’ve recently come to appreciate short films. With so much story telling to do within a short period of time, short stories need to capture a moment. Ben Briand’s Apricot does exactly this – captures an intimate moment. You get drawn into the story that enfolds between the two characters.
