Beauty in itself has always been nice, but there is something about unexpected beauty that makes it all the more alluring. Maybe it has something to do with discovery of something you never saw before. A llama that I visited at a local zoo was the first to come to mind that demonstrated unexpected beauty. Her eyelashes were so long, her fur was so smooth, and she had the slightest smile on her face every time she looked at you. Natural beauty at its’ best.
A simplistic short by Chris Milk which captures a compilation of special moments throughout this man’s life till his last day. His journey from young to old; birthday parties, graduation day, heated fights, to his wedding day. These are just some of the moments that are captured in quick snap shots, which are hard to forget. What are some of the things you will hold on to, till you grow old?
Warm summer evenings are one of our favorite times of the day. It’s when the sun casts an orange glow on the streets and the city lights come alive. Watching the glimmering city lights with eyes half closed is the best – making us unconscious of what the lights are and focusing more on how the lights dance against the golden city.
It’s only befitting that this week’s Sunday Mood is a Montreal band. So let me introduce you to Sweet Sixteen by Think About Life. I discovered this band through TPW’s own intern, Erin. This isn’t their official video but it’s amusing and it will make you get up and dance around in your room. Really. No one’s watching!

After 7 hours of driving, Justine and I finally made it to Montreal. It’s the first time I’m able to experience this city without having to be on a school trip. Justine and I met up with TPW’s intern Erin who’s been living in Montreal for the past 4 years.
From eating delicious poutine at the famous 24 hour La Banquise, to some delicious pies at the Rockaberry, it’s been quite the food extravaganza. Tomorrow, we’re heading over to the Jean-Talon market followed by visiting some wonderful boutiques in and around this great city. And next week, we’re going share some of our top favorite picks from Montreal with you. Looking forward to our finds!
Vanilla was never quite my favorite, as it was a tad plain and lacked personality. This week’s photo board was inspired by some delicious vanilla bean ice cream that I had last week. Soft whites, sea blues and spots of a variety of browns were used this week to express the flavor. Vanilla actually has a very soft aroma, and the creaminess of the flavor matches it perfectly. Finding perfection in something simple is part of the fun. Have a wonderful week!

I’ve always walked the same path to and from home. Walking by the same corner two times a day, always in a rush. Luckily, a few little bees managed to stop and call out to me this weekend. I took the time to smell the flowers they were dancing near. The sweet scent of honey colored flowers made me realize that summer was in full bloom.
Wendy is fat. I can’t sugarcoat it. I read once that the way to tell if your cat is overweight is to see if you can feel her ribs when you pet her stomach. When I pet Wendy’s stomach, she goes, “mraaoow!” indignantly and bats me with her paws, and there are no ribs to be found. She’s not obese, and she seems comfortable with herself, and she has a really pretty face, but, you know, if she were a human going on a trip to the beach, she would probably not be baring her midriff.
The thing is, if you think about this in human terms, there are plenty of people who have the same problem; if you petted many of our stomachs, you wouldn’t feel our ribs either, but most people have the tact not to say anything about it, especially if our health is not being endangered. Why don’t people have this same tact when dealing with cats?
Every time we host a guest (usually the kind who does not have pets of their own), the guest will remark, “That cat is really big!” “Has she always been that big?” “What does she eat?” “Is she pregnant?” No, she is not pregnant. Wendy is very chaste; in fact, she abhors other cats. And while Wendy is generally very stoical, I wonder if her feelings don’t get a little hurt once in a while.
One of my favourite things to do during the summer is to have the windows rolled down and drive on the highway with the wind whipping through my hair and the sun streaming down. There’s something so natural and careless about driving so freely. But of course you can’t forget your summer driving music. So this week I’d like to share Toneless‘ Closer to Sun. It certainly hits the spot. Roll down your windows and blast some music.
